The 2016 X.Org Developer's Conference (XDC2016) is to be held from September 21st through September 23rd at Haaga-Helia in Helsinki, Finland.

A social event will be held on the Saturday following the conference. This will probably be about visiting the city a little, enjoying some Finnish sauna (take your swimming costumes as it will also include Baltic sea dipping!) and probably enjoying a little more food, beers and/or clubs. If you have any suggestion or want to help organising this, contact Martin Peres (martin dot peres at free dot fr).

Livestream

We will provide a livestream of the event. Here are the links:

You will be able to send questions to the speaker. A link will soon be provided in the video's description to do so.

Transportation

Transportation inside Helsinki is not a problem as public transport is very efficient and running almost all the time.

When arriving at the Vantaa airport, use the local train (line P or I) to get to the center (regional ticket, ~5e ride). You may buy your tickets on the vending machines right before going underground to catch the train or on the platform. The machine is green and has VR written in big white letters.

We suggest that you buy a single-use regional ticket to go to Helsinki and then Helsinki day tickets until the end of the conference which will allow you to travel as much as you want using all the buses, metro, trams, trains and even some ferries inside Helsinki. More information here(select day tickets).

The venue is located right in front of an exit of the local train station "Pasila". For others, you may use Google Maps to plan your trip as it is quite reliable.

WARNING: You cannot use your Helsinki day tickets to leave Helsinki or go back to the airport. You need a regional ticket for this!

Travel Sponsoring

If you are not on a corporate budget but have something to present, please contact the X.Org Foundation Board of Directors board@foundation.x.org for travel sponsorship. (See /Events for details.)

Sponsors

We would like to thank Intel for sponsoring the catering at the conference and allowing some of its engineers to organize the conference on company's time.
