XDC2015 Hotels

This list is still a work in progress. If you are interested in staying somewhere that is not on this list, please contact the event organizer (tom at stellard dot net) in order to make sure that it will be practical to stay there.

I have done by best to estimate transportation costs and travel times to and from the hotels, but the actual values may vary.

Executive Learning Centre at York University

This hotel is located on the Campus of York University and is very close to the XDC2015 location. We have a block of 40 rooms reserved for the conference dates: (Sept 16-18), however we were only able to reserve 9 rooms for the night before the conference: Sept 15. If you will be arriving on the 15th and there are no rooms available, there is always the possibility of staying at a different hotel for the first night only, and then staying on campus for the next 3 nights.

Transportation to/from Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ)

Taxi: Approximately $42 CAD, 25 minutes

Bus:

• Take GO Bus Route #40 (Pearson Express to Richmond Hill Centre); $6.65 CAD (25 Minutes).
• At Richmond Hill Centre purchase a "Ride to GO" ticket from the ticket vending machine for $0.75 CAD and transfer to VIVA Purple towards York University. (35 Minutes).

Transportation to XDC2015

Two minute walk.

Cost

$149 CAD + 13% HST per night (includes a continental breakfast).

To reserve a room, call the front desk at 416-650-8300 or email reservations@schulich.yorku.ca. The block are reserved under the name "Seneca CDOT" / block number 603142. You will need to mention this when making a reservation.

Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Vaughan

This hotel is located about 5 km north of the York University campus.

Transportation to/from Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ)

Taxi: Approximately $46 CAD, 25 minutes

Bus:

• Take GO Bus Route #40 (Pearson Express to Richmond Hill Centre); $6.65 CAD (25 Minutes).
• At Richmond Hill Centre purchase a "Ride to GO" ticket from the ticket vending machine for $0.75 CAD and transfer to VIVA Purple towards York University. (35 Minutes).
• At York University, transfer to VIVA Orange towards Martin Grove. Exit at the Vaughan Corporate Centre/ HWY 7 Stop (15 minutes).

Transportation to XDC2015

It is approximately a 10 - 15 minute bus ride on the VIVA Orange line from this hotel to the York University campus and from the campus bus stop about a 5 minute walk to the XDC2015 location.

The bus ticket costs $4 CAD.

Courtyard Toronto Vaughan

This hotel is located about 850 meters from the Hilton Garden Inn and Residence Inn.

Transportation to/from Toronto Pearson Airport (YYZ)

Taxi: Same as Hilton Garden Inn.

Bus:

• Take the same bus routes as Hilton Garden Inn.
• When you exit the VIVA Orange bus at the Vaughan Corporate Centre/ HWY 7 Stop, walk south on Interchange Way and then take a right to the 'T' to stay on Interchange Way. The hotel is 850 meters from the bus stop.

Transportation to/from XDC2015

To get to the bus, head East on Interchange way. When Interchange Way splits into two directions, take a left (North) and walk to the bus stop across from the Hilton Garden Inn.
